CLAIR COUNTY METROLINK EXTENSION PROJECT SOL ML-97-SB-2329 DUE 100799 POC Ms. Rebecca Howe, 314/923-3022 (fax); Ms. Marquita Hayes-Martin, 314/982-1400 ext. 1740 The Bi-State Development Agency (Agency) is soliciting sealed bids for Station Finishes for the St. Clair County MetroLink Extension project. The work to be included in the Station Finishes project is comprised of four major components: 1. Mainline Landscaping: This component of work consists of landscaping along the mainline right-of-way, specifically, soil preparation; planting of trees, shrubs, and ground cover; fertilizing and mulching. A warranty maintenance is also included in the work, as well as miscellaneous decorative fencing along the mainline. 2. At-Grade Crossing: This component of work consists of pavement striping and marking and regulatory signage for each of the ten at-grade crossings along the mainline. 3. Wetland Mitigation: This component consists of the construction of two wetland compensation sites with a total area of 23.85 acres. Both parcels are located at the intersection of IL Rte 163 and IL Rte 13 and will include site clearing; earthwork and grading; storm culverts; and planting of trees, shrubs, and ground cover. A wetland-monitoring program is also included with this component of work and will be implemented upon completion of the wetlands compensation site construction. 4. Station/Park-and-Ride Finishes: This component consists of numerous elements of work required to complete or finish the eight MetroLink stations and park-and-rides. The major elements of work include: the manufacture/procurement and installation of amenities (windscreens, trash receptacles, benches, leaning rails, shelters, bike racks, newspaper racks, and information kiosks); regulatory and project identification signage; glazing of the platform canopies; the manufacture/procurement and installation of handrails, guardrails, and grating; striping and marking of the park-and-ride lots and access roadways; irrigation and landscaping of the park-and-ride lots; platform and park-and-ride electrical and lighting; furnishing and installing the precast warning strips along the edges of the station platforms; miscellaneous electrical and HVAC of the eight communication buildings; and the construction of three customer service buildings (CMU walls, polycabonate glazing and aluminum extrusion roofing, windows and doors, restroom facilities, lighting, air conditioning, heating, etc). The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal is fifteen percent (15%). All DBE firms are invited to participate in this procurement as a primary Bidder or as a partner with another firm.
