This solicitation is limited to competition among small businesses in Alaska and Washington State only. FAR Clause 52.232-18 (Availability of Funds) applies to this solicitation. Funds are NOT presently available for this contract. The Government's obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until the Contractor receives notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer. This solicitation entails repair and maintenance to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Motor Vessel (M/V) Tiglax, a 121 foot steel hulled vessel. Highlights of the major work to be performed, include but are not limited to the following: Haul-out, Steelwork consisting of hull repairs, Pipefitting, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Preparation and Painting of vessel's exterior, Sea trials upon completion of work. Anticipated date for issuing the solicitation is estimated to occur in late September to October 1999.
