This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) DTCG39-99-Q-E00269. This acquisition is a 100% set-aside for small business. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 3845; the size standard is 500 employees. The USCG Research and Development Center, Groton, CT intends to purchase Line Item 0001 -- fifty (50) Activity Monitors -- Minimum Requirements 1) Must be waterproof in depths of seven to ten meters and resistant to both corrosion and impact; 2) should be small and lightweight in design, not to exceed 40x30x15mm in size and weighing no more than 17 grams; 3) Have a battery life of no less than six months with coin cell batteries that are easily obtainable and replaceable; 4) Retains memory of data for a minimum of two years after end of battery life; 5) Has minimum of 64K memory for longer recording time while minimizing downloading sessions; 6) Possesses light (Lux) monitoring and recording capabilities; and 7) Capable of downloading data telemetrically. Line Item 0002 -- two (2) Activity Monitor Reader -- Minimum Requirements -- 1) Allows data from activity monitors to be transferred telemetrically; and 2) Compatible for use with Laptop or desktop computers. SHIPPING: FOB DESTINATION. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12.
