is amended as follows: This is a Request for Information (RFI) from
potential sources capable of providing medical dictation and
transcription information systems technology to include all necessary
hardware and operating systems software, supplies, parts, materials,
support equipment, labor and supervision for installation,
configuration, integration, and training. The requirement also includes
transcription services on a fee-per service based upon cost per
transcription line. This request for information is needed prior to
release of any resultant solicitation. A draft statement of work will
be provided on or about August 20, 1999 by either electronic mail or
fax to those interested sources who submitted their name to this office
previously. Any additional potential sources that are interested in
receiving a draft copy of statement of work shall provide their name
and point of contact with their firm, to include their address, eMail
address, phone number and facsimile number before August 25, 1999 to
the following adddress: MEDCOM Contracting Center, 2107 17th Street,
Building 4197, Fort Sam Houston, Texas 78234-5015, ATTN: Sylvia Flores.
Requests may also be submitted by facsimile to number (210) 295-4937 or
(210) 221-5402. Contractors are encouraged to provide their questions,
comments, or concerns in writing on the draft statement of work by
4:00 PM CDST on August 27, 1999. Responses shall be submitted either by
eMail, fax or mail to MEDCOM Contracting Center. An opportunity for
contractors to have face-to-face discussions with government personnel
will be made available during September 1 and 2, 1999 at Fort Sam
Houston, Texas. Each firm will be allowed 1 1/2 hours to present their
questions, comments, or concerns. Sources who have expressed interest
in the requirement will be contacted by the MEDCOM Contracting Center
personnel to schedule the day and time they will be presenting their
questions, comments, or concerns to the government personnel. Posted
