are sought. 30th Space Wing is seeking input from industry with the
technical expertise to provide services of a non-personal nature for
Launch Services Support (LSSC) at Vandenberg AFB CA. This contract will
provide mission essential technical support for the operation,
maintenance, modification, and/or installation of communication and
launch support systems for the Western Space and Missile Range. The
systems are comprised of many functionally discrete types of equipment
which collectively provide a flexible, program-oriented communication
capability for space and missile flight test, supporting checkout,
instrumentation, administrative and technical activities. The systems
include but are not limited to technical and administrative
communications systems, recording systems, public address systems,
closed-circuit television, photographic systems, timing systems,
microwave equipment, DC power systems, data transmission systems,
count-down clocks, missile liftoff systems, fiber optic systems, and
area warning systems. The systems involved are located at Vandenberg
AFB, Santa Barbara County, CA. The systems at Vandenberg range over an
approximate maximum distance of 30 miles. The tentative date for
electronic release of the draft RFP is 8 Oct 99. A site tour has been
tentatively scheduled for 12 Oct 99, with one-on-one discussions to
follow. We need input from industry to determine if this type of
service can be procured using FAR Part 12 procedures. Reference library
with pertinent documentation is tentatively scheduled to be available
electronically NLT 8 Oct 99. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside
for small business (SIC 8731, 1000 employees); a small business
submitting a proposal must perform a minimum of 51% of the proposed
contract performance. This will be a two-year,
fixed-price/incentive-fee contract. Interested firms need to state
