This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued Request for Quotation (RFQ 046251). The solicitation clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3826. The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basic to BioRad Laboratories, Hercules, CA. BioRad will provide the following: Two Electrophoress Systems- 170-3670 Chef Mapper -XA. Chiller systems; two (2) Gel-DOC 2000 PCU-170-8100; two(2) Chef-Drill Chiller Systems, 120v-170-3700 and two(2) fingerprinting Plus Software-170-7562. Service to include deliver for two different locations and installaion; Food & Drug, Northeast Regional Laboratory, Brooklyn, New York and Food & Drug, Pacific Regional Laboratoy Sowthwest, Los Angeles. The equipment purchased must comply to year 2000 compliants. Currently FDA is using this system as part of the inter-agency to equip the entire region to PulseNET for foodborne tracking system and harmonize DNA fingerprinting to ensure uniformity and seamless data comparability. The vendor shall warrant normal warranty and provide any needed assistance following installation.
