Number 9011225901-00338 SUBJECT: REPLACE WINDOWS IN BLDG. 173
Beltsville, Maryland. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment,
transportation, specialized tools, safety items and supervision to
replace the windows in building 173 which was built in the thirties and
is mainly concrete, brick and block construction and is located in
Beltsville, Maryland off Powdermill Rd. East 20705. Written request
only via fax 301/504-5009 or by mail to the above address (specify SOL
9011225901-00338). RFQ to be issued on or about September 2, 1999.
Windows shall be removed in accordance with the lead abatement
requirements. Remove all windows and related trim work off site to a
certified land fill. Install all new single hung therma pane aluminum
windows in front section of Bldg. 173 and install projected windows in
lab areas of back section of Bldg. 173. Windows shall be aluminum with
white enamel paint finish. All operating parts shall be stainless
steel. After windows are installed if their space or opening between
the wall and windows use backer rod, foam and chaulk. Also, any triming
out on the interior or exterior of the window shall be performed to
create a conformity to the existing. This shall include paint,
patching, chaulking and insulating. All windows shall match existing.
Warranty on windows and workmanship shall apply as such...40 years on
windows 2 years on workmanship. Material submitall forms shall be
submitted with all listed products and then approved by the COTR/CO.
All work schedules shall be submitted and pre-approved before any work
start up on this project. All work shall follow all local, state and
federal code requirements and specifications, USDA Statement of Work,
drawings and Special Conditions Part II, clauses and Wage rate MD990057
mod 6. This requirement is being procured under Simplified Acquisition
Procedures using Best Value. Magnitude of project is between
$25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Only one site visit will be conducted. Site
visit is scheduled for September 9, 1999, 9 a.m., at Bldg. 173. This
procurement is set-aside for Emerging Small Business (ESB) concerns. To
qualify as an ESB, a small business concern's size must be no greater
than $3.5 million annualy for the last three years. A firm-fixed price
purchase order will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits
the quotation considered most advantageous to the government
considering price and other factors, SIC Code is 1793. Faxed quotes
will be accepted. The job is to be completed within 30 calendar days
following receipt of Notice to Proceed. Anticipated award date is
