Z -- FURNISH AND INSTALL SPRINKLER SYSTEM IN RAYBURN BUILDING SOL IFB 990035 DUE 103199 POC David Moulton (202) 226-2557 The Architect of the Capitol has a requirement to furnish and install a fire suppression sprinkler system in the Rayburn House Office Building located at Independence Avenue and South Capitol Street, S.W. in Washington DC. In conjunction with the sprinkler system installation, components of a telecommunication distribution system are to be furnished and installed. The system includes new fire pumps, modifications to the existing sprinkler/standpipe piping distribution system as well as an extension of the existing fire alarm system, replacement of the emergency generator and components of the telecommunication distribution system. The system includes installation of sprinkler supply and drain risers and sprinkler zone valving arrangements for the entire building. The work is separated into zones and the base bid includes the infrastructure, fire pumps, emergency generator and everything not specifically identified as an option. The four options are: (1) third and second floor zones, (2) second and first floor zones, (3) first floor, basement and subbasement zones, and (4) garage and penthouse zones. Each segment of the contract is to be complete and operational. The estimated value of this project for the base project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
