This is a one year pilot project for the Bureaus photofiling system. Work includes placing more than 20,000 images into a searchable catalogue and onto an FTP server. The images shall be available for download to the general public, federal agencies, and BLM employees via a web browser. A separate part of this project requires an FTP server to house images. This File transfer server is allocated with more than 64 Gigabyte of storage space with an additional 4 slots available in it's random array of individual discs (RAID) for additional storage. The server is already configured but requires establishment on a highspeed line via a co-location with a Internet service provider (ISP). The proposed co-location of the BLM State Office with another Federal agency requires that a web server be configured (with NT or UNIX) and placed at the bureaus downtown office and wired to the ISP at a bandwidth approximately the size of a T1.
