Phelps, 212-264-9003 The contractor will remove and dispose of debris
from the storage barges NY48 & NY49 consisting of various sizes of
wood, pilings, wreckage, wrecks, fiberglass boats, plastics, styrofoam,
metals, rubber tires and wood, metal, concrete and encrusted earth and
mud. It is estimated that the contractor will be required to remove
the wood and debris three (3) times from each barge per year. Contract
performance period will be approximately 20 October 1999 through 19
October 2000 with two (2) one-year options for renewal. Both barges
hold approximately 250 short tons. The contractor shall dispose of a
maximum of 50% of the debris at a landfill. The contractor must assure
compliance with appropriate Federal, State and/or local regulations
and obtain the appropriate authorization and permits at his/her
expense. A minimum of 50% of the debris must be disposed of. 100% of
the debris may be recycled. Recycling includes environmentally
acceptable reuse of material in present form, processing of material
for reuse, resource recovery, etc. Estimated range of total requirement
is $250,000.00 to $500,000.00. Solicitation to be available on or about
30 August 1999 and must be requested in writing accompanied by company
check or money order ($30.00, non-refundable), made payable to:
