Administration (DOL/ETA), Office of Job Corps is soliciting proposals
to select a contractor to provide support services to male students
terminating from the Job Corps program. The contractor must have the
following capabilities: an existing, stable, dependable force of
trained volunteer workers nationwide, in all states, both rural and
urban; and exiting comprehensive national network of service providers
who are available nationally, in all states, both rural and urban on
a 24-hours basis, every day, with capability for immediate direct
service delivery and immediate response to requests for emergency help
in any area of the country; and an existing survey data collection
system to provide placement verification and follow-up activities. The
period of performance for the prospective award will be 12 months from
the date of contract execution plus four 1-year options at the
government's discretion. This requirement is being let under full and
open competition. The SIC code is 8744 and the size standard is $5
million. Offerors please be advised that DOL/ETA seeks to place a fair
portion of its contract dollars with small, small disadvantaged (SDB),
and women-owned small business concerns as defined in FAR 52.219-8. For
this procurement the Contracting Officer has made an assessment that
20% of the total dollar value of the contract be subcontracted to
small, small disadvantaged and women-owned businesses. Request for
Proposals will be available on the Department of Labor, Employment and
Training Administration's Internet Home Page at HTTP://WWW.DOLETA.GOV,
approximately 15 days from the date of publication. Request for
Proposals in hard copy form will be available on a first come,
first-served basis until the supply is exhausted. Telephone requests
will not be honored. For requests made after the supply is exhausted,
the Contracting officer may determine whether payment of a fee is
warranted. The fee will not exceed the actual cost of duplication of
the solicitation document. Closing date for receipt of proposals will
be October 15, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. local time. Requests must cite
RFP-DCS-99-45 and must include two self addressed labels. Failure to
enclose labels may cause delay in receipt of the solicitation. No
