Gewiss (SEA 02622) (703) 602-8306x623 (N00024-99-R-6221) SOURCES SOUGHT -- Dry Deck Shelter Planning Yard Support Services -- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking expressions of interest to determine if there are an adequate number of responsible and interested sources who can meet a forthcoming competitive requirement for Dry Deck Shelter (DDS) Planning Yard (PY) support services. Dry Deck Shelters are portable, currently operational, diving chambers that are bolted to specially configured submarine host ships. Interested firms will be expected to furnish all personnel, facilities, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, supervision, and any other items or services necessary to perform the type of services specified below. These services include, but are not necessarily limited to: Planning Yard Support and Design Support for operational Dry Deck Shelters (DDSs) and DDS transporters, Engineering and Technical Support and Material for Maintenance or Repair on an Emergency Basis, Performance of overhauls or Restricted Availabilities on assigned DDSs and transporters, Engineering and Technical Support and Material to accomplish DDS to Host Ship Interface Connections and DDS to Host Ship Integrated System Certification, and Creation and Revision of Technical Manuals. Interested parties having the required specialized capabilities to meet all of the above proposed requirements should submit to Mrs. Linda Gewiss, SEA 02622, a two (2) page (maximum) typed expression of interest/capability statement indicating their ability to perform all aspects of the efforts described above. Responses are required to include the firm name, mailing address, telephone and facsimile numbers, World Wide Web (Internet) presence (if any), size of firm, number of years providing planning yard services, and direct points of contact including phone and e-mail addresses. Only written responses transmitted electronically, by mail, or facsimile will be accepted. The Government will not provide payment for any information provided in response to this synopsis, nor will the Government return any data provided. All data will be for official Government use only. The Government will not provide the data received from one responder to other potentially competitive organizations. A list of interested parties will be compiled from the firms who respond to this announcement. Firms that wish to be included on the interested parties list must be able to, as a minimum, 1) access the World Wide Web; 2) send and receive unclassified e-mail; and 3) access, download, and print solicitation documents from Internet websites. All firms that provide clear and concise evidence that they can meet all of the minimum requirements shall be included on the interested parties list. The interested parties list, as well as future competitive requirements and associated documents (including the solicitation release planned for Winter 1999), will be posted on the World Wide Web (WWW) at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Contracts Directorate Website located at http://www.contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil under the proposed solicitation number N00024-99-R-6221.
