The project is for the removal of hanta virus contaminated rodent nesting materials, sanitation of nesting spaces in floor and wall spaces and minor structural construction to close cracks, holes, and other spaces to rodent entry. Because the structure is a historical building, the exterior appearance must be protected as much as possible; thus requiring special items of work to preserve the buildings appearance and still provide a means of rodent control. The estimated range is between $25,000 and $100,000. There will be no pre-bid meeting/tour. However interested parties may inspect site: Head east on US Highway 50 from Placerville, California for approximately 27 miles to Kyburz, California. Turn right onto the Silver Fork Road #1140 (Forest Highway #7). Go approximately 4 miles and the Harvey West cabin will be on the right side of the road across the river. The cabin may only be approached by fording the river on foot; there is no vehicle access at this time.
