richard.hague@med.va.gov. Contractor shall provide to the Department of
Veterans Affairs, Portland VA Medical Center which is seeking request
for quotes to provide a Digital Charge Coupled Device (CCD) Camera for
use with an Electron Microscope. Camera will be used by the Research
Department at the Portland VA Medical Center. This is a combined
synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with
the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; proposals are not requested; and written solicitation
will not be issued. Required system shall be brand name or equal to the
Advanced Microscopy Techniques (AMT) Advantage Plus Digital CCD Camera
System Part No. ADVPLUS-003 which includes the modification to allow
retracting of the STEM detector in the 35mm port of the JEM-1200EX).
Camera will have a minimum of 2000x2000 (square) pixel resolution, 2MHz
read rate from the CCD, 12-bit acquisition for 4096 gray level image
rendition, and live time display. System will include all Digital Image
Acquisition Hardware & Software to include PCI Image acquisition board,
User interface for digital image acquisition, Background correction,
Gray scale manipulation and storage, Live time background correction
and gain normalization, PhotoImpact software for image processing,
Archiving and database management software for direct image recall.
System shall also include a complete personal computer system with a
minimum specification of: Pentium 400MHz, Windows based computer with
PCI Bus, 8GB HD, 64MB Ram, 3.5" floppy drive, 17" display VGA monitor
with 1280x1024, Internal 100MB IDE ZIP Drive, Internal-Writeable CD.
System shall also include a Dysublimation High Resolution Inkjet
Printer (1400 dpi x 700 dpi) to include all necessary cables and 1 case
of photo quality paper. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials,
and incidentals to install provided system. Provide training for
technical staff appropriate to the complexity of the system as well as
training for biomedical support personnel. System shall be 100% Y2K
compliant. Prices quoted shall include all shipping and handling
