The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) will issue an RFQ using the Commercial Items procedures on/about 8/31/99 for observations towers for the Permanent Driver Training Range at the Artesia Training Facility, Artesia, NM. The requirement is for four (4) "small" observation towers consisting of prefabricated metal buildings approximately 6'W x 6'Lx7'H. These "small" towers shall be elevated eight feet (8') off the ground. There is a requirement for two (2) "large" observation towers consisting of prefabricated metal buildings approximately 12'W x 12'L x 7'H. These "large" towers will be elevated twenty feet (20') above the ground. All towers shall be insulated walls, roof and floor; a stairway sized according to national codes; on sliding entrance door; bronze tinted, double-pane insulated, metal frame windows; experior lighting for the stairway; interior flourescent lighting; on through-the-wall HVAC unit (rated for the building -- minimums established in the specifications); electrical receptacles, panel, and transformer (specified in solicitation). Desired delivery of the structures is 30 days after approval of all submittals (drwaings, certification attesting towers meet applicable requirements herein and the applicable requirements of 1997 UBC, etc.). Towers shall be shipped preassembled, ready for installation/erection by the Government. Buildings will be assembled and have lifting eyes ready for mounting on the tower structure. Simplified Acq.
