Subject to final approval, the Bureau of the Public Debt intends to award a sole source modification to Bell Atlantic Federal Systems, 1710 H Street, NW, 4th Floor, Washington, DC 20006 to provide and install a diversified cable route from the Bell Atlantic Parkersburg, WV central office to the Bureau of the Public Debt facilities located at 200 Third Street, Room 209. The alternate route will follow 10th Street to Ann Street then to Fourth Street through the alley and into 200 Third Street. The cable will be staged in Room 209 (Switchroom) providing the Bureau with a second cable that can be connected to the current Bell Atlantic equipment. Other requirements include: At no point other than the two buildings should the new cable follow the path of the existing cable; Both ends will have the appropriate connectors installed; BPD personnel will be allowed to test the cable using the Wirescope 150; Cable will be tagged at both ends for identification; Once a year, BPD personnel will be allowed to retest the cable to ensure its integrity; and the on-site work will be performed at the Bureau of the Public Debt, 200 Third Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101 during normal business hours 8:00 a.m. -- 4:00 p.m. All affirmative responses must be in writing and must be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show compliance to all the above requirements. No solicitation document is available. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. If no affirmative written response is received, within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract with Bell Atlantic, a sole-source acquisition award will be made.
