Project QJKL 99-0025, Excavate/Repair Underground Storage Tank at Base Exchange (Bldg 755) involves the removal and replacement of surrounding curb, gutter, pavement and landscaping, the excavation of a StiP3 5000 gallon double walled steel tank, disconnecting associated piping, manways and manholes to facilitate the inspection process, inspection and repair of Tank # 29, test repairs for adequacy per API requirements and reinstall tank to include reconnection of all manways, manholes etc. Install a new concrete cover over the entire tank farm to prevent water percolation on the tanks. Replace curb and gutter as per plan. Repair pavement, haul debris and clean area. Companion project QJKL 99-0003, Upgrade Leak Detection system at Base Exchange (Bldg 755) involves the removal of existing leak detection system to include all wires, sensors, probes, controllers, alarms etc. Furnish and install a complete underground leak detection system suitable for leak detection of a three tank UST complex (two tanks are StiP3 double walled, 5000 gallon capacity, the third is a fiberglass single walled 10,000 gallon tank). The leak detection system shall be a continuous surveillance system and suitable for operation in a NFPA 70, Class 1, Division 1, Group D environment. The system shall be a Veeder-Root model TLS-350 or equal. It is the Government_s intention to have both projects performed concurrently and intend to award one contract to the low responsible bidder. The magnitude of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The performance period is 30 calendar days. The SIC code is 1629 and the size standard is $18.0 Million. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued o/a 27 Aug 99 and quotations received o/a 15 Sept 99. Dates are for estimating only and may be revised as indicated in the Request for Quotation.
