following questions have been asked by industry regarding this
procurement. The Government's answers immediately follow the question.
Questions regarding the test chamber: (1Q): Describe the "built-in"
test cart. (1A): Can be pushed into chamber. (2Q): What is the
thickness of the Lexan in the sandwich skin structure? (2A): 1/2" (3Q):
Is the "control console" attached to the outside of the test chamber?
(3A): No (4Q): Is the exhaust vent an opening to atmosphere or through
a check or relief valve? (4A): Exhaust vent is an opening to
atmosphere. Questions regarding the test console: (1Q): Is this the
same as the "control console" mentioned above? (1A): Yes. (2Q): Is the
gauge panel part of the control console? (2A): Yes. (3Q): Is the "test
console" inside or outside the test chamber? (3A): Outside the test
chamber. (4Q): The gauge panel has various high and low pressure
outlets. How are they to be plumbed to the inside of the test chamber
(assuming the "test console"/ "control console" is mounted onthe
outside)? (4A)Bulkhead. (5Q): Both A.C. and D.C. panel meters are
specified. What is the source of power and what are the values? (5A):
Customer supplied values. (6Q): Is electrical power delivered to the
inside of the test chamber? If so, does it terminate in an electrical
box? Are circuit breakers required? (6A): No, to the console. Yes.
(7Q): How are the flow meters plumbed, i.e. before the test specimens
or after? (7A): After the test specimens. (8Q): What is the accuracy
requirement(s ) for the "test gauges"? (8A): 0.25 percent (9Q): Are
there two "automatic dump valve(s) required, one in the L. P. manifold
and one in the H. P. manifold? (9A): Yes. (10Q): The H. P. regulator
is specified to be stainless steel. Is the L. P. regulator also to be
stainless steel? (10A): Yes. (11Q): How is the "test timer" started,
i.e. manual or automatically on application of pressure to a test
specimen? (11A): Push to start. Questions regarding the air compressor
assembly: (1Q): The description of the air compressor does not include
a dehydration/purification system. Is one required? What specification
must the discharge air meet? (1A): Yes, 10.8 SCFM @ 3000 PSI. Posted
