This announcement revises the CBD posted on August 3, 1999 that stated the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to procure non-developmental, open-circuit, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) fire fighting systems to outfit the U. S. Navy fleet. NAVSEA will procure SCBAs by issuing one or more Blanket Purchasing Agreement(s) (BPA) under the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS). The procurement is being postponed due to a conflict in the Navy's scheduling. Please take note of the revised dates stated below. All companies interested in being evaluated must be on the GSA FSS by no later than November 1, 1999. The only SCBA units that will be evaluated shall fully comply with, and be certified to, Title 42 of the Federal Code of Regulations (42 CFR) Part 84, Subpart H, and shall comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1981. The SCBA is in the Federal Supply Class (FSC) Group 42, Part I, Section B, of the GSA FSS. During the ordering period, the Government may conduct competitions for additional BPAs covering Navy SCBAs. It is anticipated that a draft BPA will be posted on the NAVSEA Contracts World Wide Web home page and will be available for viewing on or about October 4, 1999 at the following site: http://www.contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil/home.html.
