COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 1,1999 PSA#24231999 WORLDWIDE PERSONNEL RECOVERY CONFERENCE -- VENDOR DISPLAY The
Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) is soliciting
vendor displays for the 1999 DoD Worldwide Personnel Recovery
Conference, October 26-28, 1999 from companies involved in the
personnel recovery mission area or who possess systems that would be of
value to personnel recovery. Conference attendees will include flag
officers and senior executives from DoD and other Government agencies.
Personnel recovery is the sum of military, civil, and political
efforts to obtain the release or recovery of personnel from uncertain
or hostile environments and denied areas whether they are captured,
missing, or isolated. It includes, but is not limited to theater search
and rescue; Combat Search & Rescue (CSAR), Survival Evasion Resistance
and Escape (SERE), Evasion and Recovery; and the coordination of
negotiated as well as forcible recovery options. Personnel Recovery may
occur through military action, action by non-governmental
organizations, other USG-approved action, and diplomatic initiatives,
or through any of those options. Vendor displays will be placed in
Headquarters Defense Logistic Agency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Floor
space is limited to a maximum of six (6) vendors (30x40 sq ft, 4x10 or
3x10) and fees for displays have not yet been determined. Interested
