FINANCIAL STATEMENT AND OTHER FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES. The following is a notification of an upcoming meeting at which we may Request for Comment (RFC). The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has a requirement for financial statement auditing services and other financial management support services. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposals (RFP). DHHS intends to begin the competition in the fall of fiscal year 2000. In advance of formal issuance of our RFP we would like input from the private sector on our proposed competition methodology, the solicitation document, (specifically the statement of work and evaluation criteria), quality assurance plans, and use of incentives linked to performance. DHHS will convene a set of meetings in October to discuss the evolution of this procurement. A half-day meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5, 1999. We believe private sector feedback is important, and are receptive to all ideas that would result in limiting potential technical andcontractual problem areas. Currently, we are in the process of developing the solicitation package. Draft documents may be available on the DHHS website at www.os.dhhs.gov/progorg/oam/contrct prior to the October 5th meeting. Eligibility to participate in this procurement does not depend on participation at these meetings, however, we believe that it would be unlikely for a firm that does not participate to be listed among those firms that would be considered most highly rated. The location of the October 5th meeting is the small auditorium at the Hubert H. Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Ave., SW, Washington, DC. The meeting will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m..
