66 -- HEATED FLAME IONIZATION DETECTOR SOL 99-13 POC Pam Legare E-MAIL: U.S. EPA -- Cincinnati Contracts Management Division, legare.pamela@epamail.epa.gov. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeks qualified sources to provide a Heated Flame Ionization Detector (HFID) for EPA's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory(NVFEL) Testing Services Division. The electrical output of the HFID used for measuring hydrocarbons (or hydrocarbons plus methanol) shall be recorded onto a data acquisition system. The HFID must be functionally capable to accept AK protocol commands over an RS-232 communications bus. It must be equipped on the back with a 9 pin female DB connector for the RS-232 communication, a 3 pin male Molex connector for power, a 3 pin female Molex connector for heated FID line power, a 3 pin female Mini DIN connector for the heated FID thermocouple, a 9 pin female DB connector and cable to connect to the individual sample valve solenoids with connectors that match the individual sample solenoids, and the HFID shall be delivered with the ability to respond to commands from a host computer without any user modifications. The HFID shall be mounted on a 19" rack. There shall be a port (1/4" Swagelok or 6mm bulkhead connectors or equivalent) on the HFID for span gases (4), FID fuel (1), zero air (1), and sample (1). The HFID shall be automated such that it can be zeroed and spanned during testing through the commands given on the RS-232 bus. The HFID system shall have a minimum warranty of 12 months after commissioning and shall guarantee the components and specified functions and include labor costs for any work required under the warranty. The analyzer shall be supplied with complete operational manuals, maintenance manuals, and system electrical and pneumatic schematics. Delivery shall be within 180 days after award.
