Modification to contract N00406-98-M-1575 with GE Medical Systems. The current contract provides Shared Service Hardware Maintenance and ProActive Database Maintenance for the Medical Diagnostic Imaging System (MDIS) utilized by Naval Hospital Bremerton, Branch Medical Clinic Bangor and Branch Medical Clinic Everett for the period 1 OCT 98 through 30 SEP 99, with four 1-year options. This modification is to add the same maintenance support services for the Naval Hospital Oak Harbor. The period of performance will be 1 month (1-30 SEP 99) with four 1-year options. The MDIS is linked to Madigan Hospital's MDIS. In order for the Navy sites to continue using the teleradiology capabilities of the system and to maintain the critical link to Madigan's MDIS, the MDIS must be maintained by a GE Medical Systems Administrator. Additionally, the software that supports the MDIS is proprietary to GE. The Government is unable to provide information necessary to support competitive procurement. The Government intends to solicit, negotiate and award the modification on a sole source basis with General Electric Medical Systems, 800 Business Center Drive, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056. The initial contract was awarded using FAR part 12 procedures; this modification will utilize the same procedures. No telephone requests for the modification will be accepted.
