The United States Forest Service, Region 5 (California) skills to adequately perform hazardous waste investigation work (Activity I -- Technical Investigations; Activity II -- Identification of Potentially Responsible Parties). Work will be at various locations throughout the State of California. Firms are required to have an office in California. Projects may include, but are not limited to: completion of various evaluations and reports as specified in the National Contingency Plan (40 CFR 300) for cleanup of sites which have released hazardous substances into the environment, or as required by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act or other Federal or State hazardous waste cleanup regulations. Reports might include: Preliminary Assessments, Site Inspections, Risk Assessments, Remedial Investigations, Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analyses, and associated project designs. Offerors may choose to submit a bid for one activity or both activities. Two to five contractors will be selected for a basic performance period of one year with two (2) one-year renewal options. After award, selected contractors will compete for individual work assignments, with range from $5,000 to $200,000 with a majority of the assignments costing less than $50,000.
