Y -- PENTAGON RENOVATION PROGRAM WEDGE 2 STRATEGY CHANGE, INDUSTRY SESSION SOL n/a POC Diana Hoag, (703) 693-7650 WEB: Click here for more information about the Pentagon, http://www.dtic.mil/pentagon_renovation. E-MAIL: Click here to contact the Contracting Officer via, hoagdr@army.pentagon.mil. As a follow-up to previous industry sessions on 12 Apr 99 and 26 May 99, the Pentagon Renovation Program Office will be hosting a three-hour meeting on 14 Sep 99 from 0900 to 1200 to describe recent changes to the approach and strategy for renovating the next significant above-ground increment of the Pentagon. In lieu of the previous approach to renovating what was known as Wedge 2, the Program Office now intends in this acquisition to renovate an area consisting of all five floors of the Pentagon's A and B inner rings extended from the previous Wedge 1/Wedge 2 barrier wall boundary through Wedge 4, and acquire about 56,000 square feet of new construction adjacent to this arc in the center courtyard. The delivery method for this acquisition will be a design-build hybrid (actual description of this hybrid to be elaborated at this industry day session). The Program Office is again encouraging all potential qualified building construction contractors to attend. Qualified contractors are those which have completed major renovation projects (1 million square feet plus) valued at $50M or more. Firms should have experience working on all facets of building construction, primarily interior core and shell construction, from demolition to final tenant fit-out, as well as design-build experience and phased construction in occupied buildings. Type of work includes upgrading the building's complete interior architectural, heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, plumbing, power, lighting, fire protection, and telecommunications systems, and new construction compatible with the existing building. Because of space limitations, only 2 representatives from each firm or team will be permitted to attend. Interested firms must notify Ms. Diana Hoag at (703) 693-7650 or e-mail at hoagdr@army.pentagon.mil no later than 9 Sep 99. Please note that this is not a request for proposals. The eventual competition for this requirement will be open to all offerors. Posted 08/31/99 (W-SN374570). (0243)
