NASA/ARC plans to purchase Extended Software Support for maintenance of a commercial dynamic data acquisition software package, CADA-X, developed by LMS North America. NASA Ames Research Center intends to purchase the items from LMS North America, of Huntington Beach, CA, on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR Part 13.106-1(b), based on the premise that this is proprietary software. This system is used to acquire, porcess, and display dynamic data in support of non-standard wind tunnel tests. Tests include support for flow quality tests, exit guide tests, three-stage compressor tests, assembly noise characterization tests, fan blade modal tests, integrated system tests, and calibration tests. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE. Interested firms have 10 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 10 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
