Background "Over the next 18 months, the Air Force will be planning and conducting a Combat Rescue Capability (CRC) Analysis of Alternatives (AoA). The purpose of the CRC AoA is to assess the relative cost effectiveness and affordability of alternatives for sustaining the U.S. Air Force's Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Replacement capability. The AoA will also analyze the capability of alternatives to meet critical operational requirements, to correct current deficiencies, and to meet timeliness constraints based upon the current HH-60 fleet service life. In the near future, the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Systems Program Office (SPO) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) will issue an announcement for an industry information day. Subsequently, the SOF SPO intends to entertain white papers from aircraft primes addressing their alternatives and to provide opportunities for industry to make presentations.
