16 EA, Noun: 229 CENC (Convergent Exhaust Nozzle Control; NSN:
2995-01-433-6462PT; P/N(s): 4083219 or 441944-1), applicable to the
F100-PW-229 Engine. Dimensions: 14.195 Inches Length, 3.99 Inches
Width, 9.80 Inches Height; Weight: 22.9 lbs. Form/Fit/Function: The
CENC is usedto drive and control the modulating area nozzle on Pratt &
Whitney F100-229 Aircraft Engine. The CENC provides the power to
position the exhaust nozzle on the engine. Nozzle position is requested
by an electrical signal from the Digital Electronic Engine Control
(DEEC) to the CENC Electrohydraulic Servo Valve (EHSV). A four-way EHSV
in the hydraulic input section provides fuel pressure to power a
piston. The piston provides torque to open the pneumatic section air
valves directing thirteen-stage compressor hot air. This causes the
pneumatic section rotors to rotate, driveand position the engine nozzle
as required by the DEEC. Prodominant Material: High Temperature Steel.
