The U.S. Coast Guard intends to solicit, and award a sole-source procurement to Litton Marine System Canada in Mississauga ON L4T2H5 for the following item: Two (2) ea Base Insulators, A-4722B-30 with High Voltage Range Shield. These insulators are oil filled base and designed to be rigidly attached to the mast and are free to rock on their mounting plates. The insulators are fitted with an adjustable lightning gap and have cemented ends. The mast should be securely bolted to the top of the insulator utilizing the 3 holes provided which have been tapped 5/6 inched, 11 threads per inch to a depth of 7/8 inches. The Coast Guard is seeking an American-made equivalent item that meets our specifications. Responses may be sent to POC above or faxed (510) 437-3014.
