This is a combined solicitation/synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemted with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a writteh request for quotations will not be issued. Request for Quotation number 99Q080 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The quotation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. This action is a 100% small business set-aside. The SIC code is 7379 and the size standard is $18.0 million. The U.S. Secret Service has a requirement to purchase two (2) Brand-name IBM 6262 Line Printers -- 2200 LPM, to include shipping to destination and on-site installation and setup, with fixed-price monthly maintenance for both printers. Feature code #9510 for US/Canada 64 character.105" print baud included. Quotations for new and/or used equipment may be provided; however, no equipment substitutions will be considered. The following additional supplies and services are required: 1) Accessories -- print band, ribbon, power cord and S/370 attachment capability, 2) Provide on-site physical planning survey to include analysis of power receptacles, cooling, cables and floor tile cut-outs, service clearances and clearances through existing doorways. Coordinate any engineering or electrical tasks related to these items, 3) Assist Systems programmers with definitions of replacement printer characteristics to the host operating environment (MVS and JES), and 4) Consult with systems programmers to ensure any unique application requirements are met as they relate to FCBs (forms control buffers), print band compatibility with existing printers and other migration-related issues. Quoters must provide copy of letter from IBM acknowledging status as IBM Business Partner/Printer Remarketer, to assure adequate level of quality for this procurement.
