Requirement consists of harvesting areas consisting of Sawtimber Loblolly Pine, Atlantic White Cedar and mixed hardwood species at the Dare County Bombing Range. The sale area is approximately 73 acres in size. Maps of the sale areas are included in the solicitation. The sale area is located on flat ground with an organic litter layer of about 12 inches. The area is typical of cedar swamp with the water table at or near the surface most of the year. An estimate is furnished in determining quantities to be harvested; however, the Government gives no guarantee, expressed or implied, as to the total volume of stumpage which may be harvested. The harvesting of trees under this contract shall be accomplished with the use of logging equipment that is conventional for the local area. Low pressure skidders equipped with wide tires or tracks should be used to ground or water table conditions that exist in the sale area. Performance period is 365 calendar days from date of award. The resultant contract will be a firm-fixed price sale contract. This solicitation is a 100% Small Business set-aside. The applicable Standard Industry Classification (SIC) for this acquisition is 2411 with small business size standard of 500. The successful contractor will be selected based on the most advantageous price to the Government.
