The Defense Supply Service -- Washington intends to award a single source (follow-on) contract (IAW 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source) to the Domani Group 8707 Hempstead Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20817. This would be the second phrase of a three-phrase research project. The Study of The Attitudinal Factors Attracting or Deterring Clergy to the Military will interpretative the demographic portrayal (Phase One of this project) of our Nation's mainline, evangelical, and ethnic-intensive religious faith bodies- and their graduate schools of religion (seminaries)-as it pertains to overall constituent membership, clergy demographics, current and projected seminary. This study began to provide the Armed Forces Chaplains Board with insight into "who" will be shaping the future of American religion and by extension, the military chaplaincy, this study will address the questions of "why," "how," and in "what" way that future may unfold. This study will analyze the raw data and denominational trends, as to how and why it will affect military chaplaincy force planning, structure and manpower/personnel policies. The approach and methodology is to get behind the numbers and raw data by reviews implications of those findings and researching the field of American religious futurism as to the basis and meanings of the trends identified by Phase One research. As Phase One was exploratory and engaged in the collection of comprehensive data, Phase Two is primarily analytic in nature. The period of performance is 6 months from the date of the contract.
