USAID/Egypt intends to either execute a contract extension modification to Contract 263-C-00-95-00044-00 with Associates in Rural Development, Inc., 110 Main Street, PO Box 1397, Burlington, VT 05402 or award a follow-on contract. The modification or follow-on contract will be implemented over a two-year period. The activities extended under the modified or follow-on contract include assistance to the People's Assembly and Shoura Assembly in Egypt in use of information services in decision-making, creating demand for improved information services, and providing improved information services. The activities will also include commodity procurement, monitoring and evaluation, and support to the Library of Congress/Congressional Research Service. USAID/Egypt intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of AIDAR 706.302-70(b)(5). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a requestfor competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed modification or follow-on contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
