This work is located approximately 44 kilometers northeast of Columbia Falls, in Flathead and Glacier counties, Montana. We anticipate the award of a firm-fixed price, indefinite quantity Requirements contract. All work will be awarded by Delivery Order. Delivery Order #1 is anticipated on or around the time of contract award with an estimated fixed completion date of November 19, 2001. Upon the receipt of additional funding subsequent Delivery Orders may be awarded for additional work. The work to be ordered under this contract includes: removal of stone masonry, repointing stone, remove and reset dry laid wall, concrete walls, stone curb, prefabricated stone masonry guardwall, ground anchors, micropiles, rock protection fence, horizontal drain pipes, subsealing grout, pumped grout, removable guardwall, concrete pipe-arch culvert, grated top box culvert, culvert down drain & elbow, remove/reset stone masonry, survey/staking, contractor sampling/testing, construction scheduling, silt fence, watering for dust control, removal of apshalt pavement, excavation, select borrow, geotextiles, roadway obliteration, riprap, crushed aggregate, hot asphalt concrete, shotcrete, drilled holes, pavement markings, flaggers, and pilot cars. This work is solicited as a Request for Proposals (RFP) and all responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Contractors will be required to submit a written technical proposal and a price proposal. The proposals will be evaluated to establish those contractors considered to have a reasonable chance of being selected for award. While the Government may enter into discussions before awarding the contract, the Government also reserves the right to award the contract without discussions. The following evaluation criteria will be used: technical approach, technical qualifications, past performance, and price. All technical factors, when combined, are approximately equal to cost/price factors. The estimated price of work to be awarded under this contract is between $1,500,000 and $8,000,000. Presolicitation notices are being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the publication of this synopsis. PRELIMINARY PLANS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER 17, 1999.
