This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a proposal is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N00164-99-Q-0275 applies and is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. This requirement is for one each C-Sam (scanning acoustic microscope) System Upgrade, Brand Name Sonoscan, Inc., Model DAC264. The contractor will be required to install, integrate and test the necessary hardware and software to the existing system at NSWC Crane within 45 days after order. This RFQ is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Sonoscan, Inc., 530 East Green Street, Bensenville IL 60106, as they are the original equipment manufacturer and hold the proprietary drawings/specs. This procurement is reserved for Small Business concerns. The standard industrial classification code is 3577 and the business size standard is 1000 employees.
