70 -- UPGRADE NES AND UCO UPGRADE TITLE: NOTICE OF INTENT: The 55th Contracting Office, Offutt AFB, NE intends to issue a sole-source purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Motorola Services of Phoenix, AZ for the acquisition of upgrading IP and IPA Network Encryption System (NES) Box. A market survey was conducted by Air Force Communication Squadron and no other manufacturers were found that provide this product to the commercial market and that meets the operational requirements of the Air Force Communication Squadron. Motorola is the only known source to produce this type of product and are certified by the National Security Administration (NAS) to produce and manufacture upgrades and components. The NES is an established, standard encryption device for both Offutt AFB and Air Combat Command. The work to be awarded under this purchase order is to upgrade IP NES serial #MOT-NE1-002635 to 4 MB and UCO upgrade to ensure finished product is Y2K compliant. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this publication.
