Logistics Command has a requirement for immunoassay reagent for
6-monoacetylmorphine (6-AM) for use in the DoD military drug testing
laboratories. The immunological reagent shall be for the initial
(screen) testing for the semi-qualitative detection specifically of
6-AM. The reagent must be sensitive to discriminate the presence of
6-AM at a concentration of 10 ng/mL in urine. Cross-reactivity for
codeine, morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone, hydrocodone, hydromorphone
is not desired. The reagent must be compatible for use with the Olympus
AU800 automated drug screening equipment, and must be applicable
without modification of the equipment. The reagent must be compatible
with optimal throughput of the AU800 and must not interfere with the
optimum performance of other immunoassay procedures performed on the
instrument. Immunoassay kits are medical devices and must have
clearance from the FDA to be marketed. Only written requests for the
