Seeding, Pat_Fort@blm.gov. Work consists of seeding approximately 6,500
acres of burned area with range-type drills. The contractor will be
required to supply all drills, tractors, operators, supplies, and other
equipment to seed the designated areas with Government-Furnished seed.
Drills furnished by the contractor shall be of the disk-type capable
of planting the seed " to " deep in the designated areas at
approximately 8 pounds per acre. Furrow openers shall be between 10
inches and 14 inches apart. A sufficient number of drills, tractors,
and operators shall be provided to complete the work within the
designated time. Maximum seeding speed is 4 miles per hour. Equipment
shall be of heavy-duty construction to withstand the rigors of wildland
seeding. The work site is fairly rocky and has some unburned brush
islands and partially burned brush skeletons. The site is located in
Owyhee County, Idaho approximately 50 miles south of Bruneau and near
the rim of the Jarbidge River Canyon. Performance Period is 30 days.
