davidj@lanl.gov, davidj@lanl.gov. The University of California, which
operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to
the Department of Energy, solicits expressions of interest in obtaining
non-exclusive LANL license rights to commercialize, manufacture and
market all or part of the External Dosimetry Badge System (EDBS)
Version 1.3 hereinafter referred to as "Technology". The Technology
tracks and calculates dose information for dosimetry badges worn by
radiological workers. It has been developed for LANL, but can be
adapted to any environment, for example commercial nuclear power
plants, hospital x-ray facilities, or other facilities where monitoring
of worker exposure to radiation is necessary. The software is written
in Oracle and Omni-7 programming languages and has been compiled to run
on PC and Macintosh computers. LANL desires to license this software to
at least one dosimeter manufacturer or dosimeter system integrator who
will distribute and maintain the software. Interested organizations
must demonstrate prior professional experience in the fields of
dosimeter manufacturing, system integration and maintenance. Evidence
of related inventions, products, services and/or publications must be
provided. Any organization interested in licensing the above mentioned
Technology must respond with a statement of intent describing the
organization's technical expertise, manufacturing and marketing
capabilities, financial resources (e.g., annual report or corporate
resume) and commercial motivation. Upon receipt of a licensee applicant
statement, LANL may determine whether applicant(s) will be selected for
license negotiations. A business or product commercialization plan may
be required prior to licensee(s) selection and negotiation. For
consideration, companies must respond as required and stated above
within 30 days from the date that this advertisement first appears in
the Commerce Business Daily. For questions or clarifications contact
