E-MAIL: Michael T. Stubbs, M.T.STUBBS@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue an IFB for Modifications to the 8-Foot High Temperature Tunnel, West Area, Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. The work consists of, but is not limited to fabrication, installation, and fit-up testing of methane fuel injector, forced-air/methane igniter, baffle plate, air and methane piping systems, and associated components. The work also includes welding and in-place inspection during assembly. The contractor shall be responsible for design and fabrication of any test fixtures necessary for any fit-up tests. The welding work for this project requires work on pressure systems, and therefore a current National Board or ASME Certificate of Authorization, for use of any of the following stamps: "R", "U", "U2", "N", or "PP" is required to perform the welding. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000 -- $1.0M and the effort shall be completed within 335 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1799 and $7.0M respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about Setember 22, 1999 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about October 22, 1999.
