synopsis/solicitation. Request for Quotation (RFQ) 618-177-99 entitled
"Dryer and Lint Collecting System" is issued under Statutory Authority
41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and IAW FAR 6.302 and VAAR 811, the proposed
contract is for Brand Name Only supplies and is hereby issued for
commercial items to be used in the VA Laundry and is prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice and incorporates
provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 97-13. The authority is
cited and justification made based on the determination that the
Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by Brand Name Only
supplies. The SIC code for this procurement is 3582 and the small
business size standard is 500 employees or less. This CBD announcement
constitutes the only solicitation issued. A separate written
solicitation document will not be issued. Contractor's proposals are
hereby being requested in response to requirements for brand name only
products listed below and shall be submitted on contractor's
letterhead or bid form and must address all requirements listed and
must contain the name, title, and signature of person authorized to
submit proposals/bids on behalf of the contractor. VA Medical Center,
Minneapolis, MN has a requirement for brand name only Jensen USA, Fort
Mill, SC. Item One -- one each -- Jensen Dryer, 200 pound capacity
steam heated dryer, Model PC 414, operator's manual (two each), service
data manual (one each). Item Two -- one each -- Hosiery finished
Cylinder for Dryer. Requirement for brand name only Clean Cycle
Systems, Paramount, CA. Item Three -- one each -- Lint Collecting
System, Model DLF506, operator's manual (two each), service data manual
(one each). Item Four -- one each -- Emergency Fire Control System for
Lint Collecting System. Item Five -- one each -- Stainless Steel
Construction for Lint Collecting System. Item Six -- one each -- 30
gallon Air Reservoir for Lint Collecting System. Item Seven -- Weekend
Installation. Equipment will be Y2K compliant. All responsible sources
who can meet the VAMC's requirements and provide items as listed above
may respond to this solicitation by submitting technical and price
proposals on their company letterhead or bid form. Evaluation factors
will include, but may not be limited to, delivery, training offered,
start up, warranty, past performance and price/price related factors.
Products will be delivered to the VA Medical Center, Warehouse (90D),
One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. The solicitation clauses
