This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-13. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 8099. The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order using Simplified Acquisition Procedures September 17, 1999 to Jesse Wagstaff on a sole-source basis. The contractor shall work with FDA for a period of one year. The contractor shall: 1) provide services to index plant names for 2000 documents; 2) maintain the FDA database on poisonous plants; 3) set-up special photocopy reference; 4) provide telephone and e-mail consultation assistance; 5) submit quarterly reports on CD-Rom/disk; and 6) provide 10 hours of plant hazard evaluation consultation. This notice is not a request for quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the government's requirement no later than the response date. Capability statements must include documentation of an in-depth knowledge and prior experience.
