The Military Traffic Management Command (MTMC) is seeking to identify potential sources and their capabilities to provide for storage of privately owned vehicles (POVs) for military members of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). MTMC expects to award multiple, firm fixed price contracts for the inside storage of approximately 20,000 each POVs annually. The contractors selected shall assume full responsibility and costs for the receipt, processing, and preparation of vehicles for storage, loss and damage claims, and delivery of POV to the customer. The contractor's responsibilities shall include (but shall not be limited to): (1) operating an inside storage area in CONUS (to receive/store/deliver customers' POVs); (2) prepare POVs for safe storage, as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer's instructions; and (3) resolving POV loss and/or damage claims with customers up to $20,000 per vehicle. NOTE: Receipt and delivery locations may be in separate locations than storage site. MTMC expects to issue aformal solicitation in Mar 00 with performance commencing 1 Nov 00. Interested sources are requested to submit a statement demonstrating their capability to perform the responsibilities listed in items (1) through (3) above. Responses are limited to two pages and may include a description of the company and its experience relative to the performance of this or similar services, and must identify its business size and whether designated a Small Disadvantaged and/or Women Owned Business. FAR 19.101 and FAR 19.102 define the size standards for small businesses. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code 4226 has been determined to be applicable to this requirement.
