Service intends to procure 33 microprocessor based pressurized ion
chamber survey meters to detect gamma radiation emissions from the
Vehicle and Cargo Inspection System (VACIS) systems being installed in
ports of entry throughout the United States. It is the only radiation
measurement device tested and approved by the Customs Radiation Safety
Officer for use with VACIS. The requirement will be processed under the
authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source and no
other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The
intended source is Inovision Radiation Measurements, LLC, 6045 Cochran
Road, Cleveland, OH 44139-3303. This notice of intent is not a
solicitation for competitive proposals. See numbered Note 22. Posted
