66 -- GEL & BLOT ANALYSIS SYSTEM (STORM 840) SOL NCI-RFQ-90249-NR DUE 092419 POC Marsha Gorham, Purchasing Agent & Todd Cole, Contracting Officer (301)402-4509 The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Laboratory of Cellular Oncology intends to procure on a sole-source basis, a Gel and Blot Analysis System (STORM 840), from Molecular Dynamics, Inc. The NCI investigator believes that the aforementioned instrument and organization is the only source that can satisfy their requirement. The required system shall be as follows: The system shall be used for phosphorimaging and shall be compatible and work with existing Molecular Dynamics phosphor screens (on which samples have been prepared). All prior scientific data has been acquired with the use Molecular Dynamics analytical software. Therefore, for consistency of data all software shall be published by Molecular Dynamics and be for their STORM 840 System. The system shall be able to scan a format size of 35 by 43 cm for imaging sequence size gels. To protect vital samples from moisture the phosphor screens shall be coated with an acetate film. The system shall include the following items: pentium workstation, screens and cassettes. The Contractor shall provide a Year 2000 Warranty for each hardware, software, and firmware product delivered. The award will be in the aggregate for all items listed herein. This is not a request for competitive quotation, however, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. Information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail, to allow NCI to determine if the party can meet the requirement.
