A _ Air Force Research Laboratory, Sensors Directorate,
Electro-Optical Sensor Technology Division (AFRL/SNJW) solicits
research proposals for the Electro-Optic Threat Warning Development
(EOTWD) Program. The purpose of this solicitation is to develop passive
countermeasures covering the visible, infrared, and ultraviolet
electromagnetic spectrum. The EOTWD program is focused on support to
military operations, including air and space asset protection and
protection of personnel in hostile environments. The program will
enhance military operations by developing technologies and capabilities
for aircraft missile and laser threat warning, spacecraft laser threat
warning, EO intelligence sensors, and antipersonnel threat warning and
dosimetry. The goals are to mature technologies to the point that a
successful air and/or space system demonstration is viable, and to
develop integrated air and space system concepts that are optimized to
meet the critical needs of the above military applications. Technical
Requirements: In order to support the objectives stated above, the
following key areas of research and development will be performed under
this contract: 1) characterization of advanced Electro-Optic (EO)
warning receivers and sensors, 2) radiometric signature measurements,
3) simulation of EO as well as radio frequency (RF) threats for
receiver and countermeasure evaluations, 4) wide-ranging phenomenology
investigations, 5) signal processing algorithm development and
testing, and 6) related taskings based on quick-reaction requirements.
This effort is expected to be a 76 month Indefinite
Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with an estimated total
value of $14 million. This is an estimate only and not a guarantee of
government funding levels for the performance period. Interested
offerors may view and/or download the full PRDA solicitation by
accessing the AFRL Wright Research Site Contracting homepage at
http://www.wrs.afrl.af.mil/contract/. Direct questions to the
Contracting point of contact identified in the announcement. *** Posted
