C -- A/E MORGUE RENOVATION SOL 644-04-00 DUE 101399 POC Robert Yarnell, Contracting Officer (602) 222-2707 Provide design services, construction specifications and drawings, cost estimate and construction period services for Morgue Renovation Project at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center. The A/E shall completely design an area of approximately 800 square feet that currently consists of one Autopsy procedure room with a six drawer cooler bank, one small office room, one utility/storage room and one bathroom. New design shall include a larger Autopsy procedure room with a single level cooler and new wall mounted autopsy sink and roll away table as per conceptual design. Demolition of area will require considerable architectural electrical and plumbing changes. HVAC, fire sprinkler, electrical and mechanical gas modifications, the removal ACM materials as required and replace floor and ceiling with non-asbestos materials and new finish throughout the area. Selection will be based on: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services; 2) Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, including, where appropriate, experience in energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction, and the use of recovered material as well as specialized experience of the firm to perform the work required, including specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project; 3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time; 4) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. This includes the reputation and standing of the firm and its principal officials with respect to professional performance, general management, and cooperativeness as well as record of significant claims against the client because of improper or incomplete architectural and engineering services; 5) Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project.
