D -- FFEL PROCESSING ENVIRONMENT SOL PM92001001 POC Ellen Mason, Contract Specialist, 202-708-8603 The U.S. Department of Education(ED) intends to issue a six-month sole source extension to Contract PM92001001, with an option to extend an additional 6 months. The contractor is Raytheon-E-Systems, 7700 Arlington Boulevard, Falls Church, VA 22042. This contract provides processing, development and maintenance associated with the Federal Family Education Loans(FFEL), for the postsecondary student aid programs established under Title IV of the Higher Education Act(HEA) of 1965, as amended. Raytheon E-Systems is the only source possessing the necessary existing information, resources, expertise and facilities and expertise to meet this program requirement within the time required by ED. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
