Notice of intent to award sole source contract to Siemens Medical Systems Inc., 2002 North Hwy 360, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050, for technical support package which includes: 1. Access to technical support provided 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, remote diagnostic and image artifact evaluation, when applicable, to equipment, applications hot-line access. 2. Access to all diagnostic hardware and software required for troubleshooting our Siemens MRI. 3. All operating software and updates for the software on original and purchased software options. 4. All engineering change orders and reliability update modifications. 5. Operator and service manual updates, as well as system update instructions. This is proprietary software available only from Siemens Medical Systems. Therefore we must obtain a Diagnostic Material License Agreement from Siemens Medical Systems which no other company can provide. This contract is for October 1, 1999 through September 30,2000 plus two (2) option years. This acquisition conducted under authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for proposal. A determination of the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government, although all responses will be solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is appropriate.
