This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. N65236-99-R-5056 is issued as an RFP. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. This is a sole source procurement under SIC 3663 (See Note 22). Because the items being purchased are proprietary, this action is being processed on a sole source basis to Cylink Corporation, San Juan, CA. There are four contract line items: CLIN 0001, Triple DES Units (#HIS-41AT) quantity 14 each; CLIN 0002, 1:1 Switches (#X1AX) quantity 14 each; and CLIN 0003 Cables (#12168-005) quantity 14 each. These items form Cylink's CIDEC HIS Encryption Unit. These units are for the expansion of the existing Defense Information Systems Network at over seven sites in Puerto Rico. The delivery schedule is eight (8) weeks from receipt of the contract. Inspection/Acceptance: Destination.
